“Oh, but we could be,” she murmured.
“I can’t date you, Lila!”
“Why not?”
Adrien looked around, panicking. Someone had entered the locker room. And, of all people, it just had to be Marinette. Without any other option, Adrien cried, “Because I’m dating…Marinette!”
The blue-haired girl turned around in horror. Adrien laughed nervously.
“Guess the secret’s out, huh, babe?” he said to the room. She glared at him as he approached. He mouthed ‘play along’ at her while his back was turned.
“This will benefit you,” he hissed. The girl raised a sharp eyebrow, debated it for a moment, then turned to Lila and smiled.
“Guess so,” she announced.
It was a good thing Adrien had experience with putting on an act because those skills were about to be made useful.

Summary
Paris has changed. The university campus is quiet now, as if everything that happened before was something people agreed not to talk about. The secrets were supposed to stay buried.
But nothing about them ever really stayed buried.
Adrien and Marinette are trying (but failing) to act normal, to ignore the fact that they live too close, think too loudly, and feel way too much for it to mean nothing. Especially when neither of them can actually say what they want to.
Then something small breaks the balance, and suddenly all the things they never said start coming back anyway.
