[...] Pope grinned. Before JJ could angle himself up, Pope twisted his body round, hooked one arm under JJ’s bent knees, took a firm hold with the other behind JJ’s back and stood up, lifting JJ bridal style in his arms.
“Pope!” JJ gasped, his arms instinctively holding on around Pope’s neck.
Pope smiled down at him. JJ felt so light in his arms, his eyes so big in his delicate face, their sparkly blue dark in the dimness of the room. He looked a little surprised, but under it, Pope could see the trust shining through.
“Yes, princess?” He looked adoringly down into that face – that beautiful face – and Pope recognised the fluttering in his chest for what it was: another little piece of his heart lost to the man in his arms.
JJ blushed slightly and swallowed, his tongue darting out to wet his lips. “Pope, are you actually going to… to carry me to bed? Like some literary heroine?”
The corner of Pope’s mouth pulled up in a knowing grin. “Yes,” he said simply.
Holding JJ this close in his arms, Pope could feel the shiver that ran through JJ’s body. [...]

The druids just smiled.
"Ah, so we are in agreement then."
Arthur nodded, before the druids' words sank in.
"Wait what? No. I'm saying I want to marry Merlin, not this... Emrys you spoke of."
The druids shared a confused look.
"Sire... You're talking about the same man."
That did it. Arthurs world fully tilted. Merlin, bumbling, strange, sassy Merlin... Was the most powerful sorcerer to ever walk the earth?

How can you not see that the way you are being treated is manipulative and borderline abusive. Fuck, look at your face! You have a black eye. You have hand prints on your throat! This isn’t love, JJ!”
Pope has been infatuated by JJ from the first day of third grade. He never thought he could feel so deeply about a person before he began to understand his feelings for the other male. The only problem? JJ was popular and Pope was far too much of an anxious wreck to even talk to him. So, he chooses to love JJ from afar. That is until JJ is paired up with Pope for a project in art and they become relatively close. Close enough for JJ to let down his walls and let Pope in. But what happens when JJ shows up at Popes house one night, soaked from the rain and a black eye? Will Pope finally admit his feelings or will JJ choose another horrible guy to date?
