Setting is basically a combination of post DMC5 with some elements from the anime. Dante and Vergil are working together to settle the ongoing tension between the human realm and the demon realm / Makai. Pre-established (background) relationship of Dante/Lady.

Cloud can't stop glancing out the windows.
There's no curtains for the ones over the sink, but there are curtains for the large glass sliding door, and then the two windows just past the door. There's a lot of windows, and they aren't small ones.
He's not a daylight kinda guy, which comes from years of night shift, and he keeps the curtains closed for that reason. He's out of work for now, which is why he's depending on Barret's generosity at the moment, but he plans to get another night shift job. Hopefully. Job market is such shit lately.
But the windows are making him feel…weird. He feels exposed every time he walks past the sink, and he can't stop glancing out into the woods. There's nothing there, and he knows that, and if there was something there, he has a gun.
