Jaehyun smoothed a hand down his body, exploring, re-exploring. Recollecting. Remembering.
Sungho let him. Fingers interlocked, bodies anchored to one another—and he felt something disintegrate, shatter inside him.

“I’m serious, y’know,” Jaehyun muttered as he settled into Sungho’s neck, “You mean too much to me, to the group. I love you too much to let you go that easily.”
Then, as if his words didn’t just light a fuse in Sungho’s aching chest and burning heart, Jaehyun mumbled out a small, “Goodnight Park Sungho, congrats on our debut,” and drifted off to sleep.
(Or: Five times Jaehyun tells Sungho "I love you," and one time Sungho says it back.)

“It’s funny, though,” Sungho murmurs, swallowing down the nerves in his throat. “Who are we fearing here, exactly? Our society? Management? The fans?”
“All of them,” Jaehyun says, his smile turning sardonic. “For many of them, our queerness is acceptable only so long as it’s a suggestion. A fantasy. Or a statement they can celebrate. But if we give them something real, something they cannot mould into their own version of events—they will turn against us.”

It’s a little maddening, he can admit, but it’s for the best, for the good of their teams. He hopes.

Sungho can only smile weakly when Woonhak (18) (19.99’s Drummer) (yes, the one with drumsticks now stabbed to the rug on either side of Sungho’s head and a knee painfully digging onto Sungho’s ribcage) shrieks at his face in a frequency that only dolphins should be able to hear, “What the fuck do you mean you’re dating Jaehyun hyung? When the fuck— How the fuck— right under my fucking nose—”
In other words: If Park Sungho wants something to work, he would do absolutely anything — that includes getting the approval of an entire band if it meant getting to date Myung Jaehyun in peace.

“I just wanted to check up on you,” Woonhak says earnestly. This whole thing is so odd, especially the way his voice is tinged with pity instead of its usual exuberance. “I love you just like I love Jaehyun hyung—you know that already—so I know the breakup must be hard for you too-”
Sungho’s heart free falls into the depths of his stomach. “Break up?" he splutters. Is that why Jaehyun hasn’t replied to him? A one-sided break-up?
In other words: Sungho—raised to make well-made plans, to only act with utmost precision and calculation, and to be nothing short of absolute perfection—learns love means going heart first and taking a risk sometimes.
