There always had to be two, right?
If there was a Baelon, there had to be an Alyssa.
Viserys had seen how his mother’s death had shattered his father. Whenever someone urged the heir to the Iron throne to remarry, his smile would banish and his eyes would turn vacant. Baelon the Brave was a shell of the man he used to be, no matter how hard he tried to hide it from his beloved sons and his remaining family.
Thus, when his beloved Aemma died in childbirth delivering their son Baelon and a beautiful little girl, he knew the Gods had done this on purpose. His Baelon would have his Alyssa.
However, King Viserys’s burning desire for an heir had made him commit the worst sin a man could perpetrate. Uxoricide. The killing of one’s wife. As a consequence, his infant son died the next morn and his Alyssa was now destined to walk alone.
Little did he know Alyssa would change the tragic fate of House Targaryen forever.

It was frighteningly easy to end up in this position. Freely dangling over the abyss. All it took was too few turns of a screw; an overenthusiastic jump; too much trust in an obviously unstable rock; a momentary lapse in concentration. And they were dangling over the endless abyss.
Tango had screamed when Jimmy fell. He had seen his foot start to slip. Called out a warning too late. He had seen him miss the next handhold by a hair's breadth. He had seen his current handhold crumble under his weight. And then he had seen Jimmy fall past him, seen the terror in his eyes and Tango knew that he was going that way too.
