He craves it, the touch, the warmth, the affection. He won't ask for a hug; he's not a child. Didn't deserve it as a child either. But it's nice when she does. She pulls away and goes over to one of the couches. She clings to Twice, and he wants to sob. She can cling to whoever she wants, but with both her and Twice clinging to each other, it's clear he's not getting to be held close to anyone today.
His heart seems to stop for a moment, like it's mourning the fact that he will never be anyone's first choice. That even on his birthday, the day that everyone says is the best day of the year for them, he can't even get more than a side hug. Am I that unlovable?
