Summary
In a world where alphas' violent tenancies have led to them being sequestered away from civilised society, Childe keeps his true status a secret, concealed from the rest of the world with the help of Dottore's experimental pills.
However, a delayed shipment threatens to expose his secret, and with less than a week to go before Childe faces losing himself to his instincts, he turns to the one man in Liyue who can hope to help him should the worst occur. Summary
Liyue's warmth crashed into Childe like waves in the ocean. So violent yet so beautiful. Childe doesn't fight it, he sinks in it's current, he drowns in it instead.
He meets Zhongli and suddenly he feels unbroken. He feels whole. It's as if the Abyss never happened. As if his father never happened. As if he's human, unblemished, and unfaded.
Then Liyue's trial happened.
Those Cor Lapis eyes that shone for him, that saw him as someone to be cherished, now stood focused on Signora as a Gnosis is traded away.
He'd felt this before...he's being abandoned again.
A poisoning incident somehow leads him to find a "tumor" growing on elemental energy, a conspiracy led by the Abyss, and a child of his own.
Through this, Childe heals. He tries to forget.
Through this, Zhongli finds that his actions....have consequences.

“I sort of had a nasty confrontation in Natlan during my diplomatic tenure—got poisoned by my subordinates who happened to be spies—nearly died—and got reassigned to be a diplomat to Liyue because Her Highness doesn’t believe in vacation time,” Childe lists. “Not necessarily in that order. I haven’t even seen my siblings in years.”
“So work,” Keqing simplifies instantly, not wanting to touch that madness with a seven-foot pole.
“What are the Tsaritsa’s intentions for you coming to Liyue.”
“Honestly?” Childe hums. “No damn clue. I mean, she dumped me in Natlan for over half a decade—then boom! Out of nowhere, I get a reassignment when I’ve been asking for one for nearly five-fucking years.”
“I fucking hate Natlan—three out of ten—would not recommend.”
