Summary
“What did you come here for, little witch?” Shirogane’s free hand trails along the length of Keith’s braid, pulling it from where it was tucked in the neck of his cloak. It’s a mockery of seduction, especially as he gently tugs the length, just a little too sharply to be sweet. “Did your Goddess call upon you to kill me or something?”
Keith’s face must reveal something because Shirogane’s smile goes absolutely feral.

The Goddess says that Keith is destined for great things, but he's always had a problem with authority so he doesn't hesitate to deny this new calling. Doesn't worry about ignoring his coven's warnings or heeding his leader's ominous predictions. Doesn't mind shrugging off the weight of this so-called destiny — until it comes to find him.
It turns out destiny is a hard thing to ignore.

“You’re it for me, Shiro,” he says softly. He takes a small step forward, closing the distance between them. Glancing up at his alpha, Keith whispers, “I know it.”
“Keith, please,” Shiro pleads as if his morals are only a threadbare temptation away from breaking.
“Alpha,” Keith breathes as he tips his head to the side and bares his throat. He watches as Shiro’s pupils dilate and his lips part on a sigh. “Bite me.”

Shiro pauses and turns back around to look at the alien in the glass cage. XT-001 is standing at the edge, blanket left abandoned on the ground, and pressing one hand against the glass.
He doesn’t know if he misheard the familiar name on the boy's lips. “Keith?”
“My name.”
Shiro takes a single step toward the alien, wary that the sudden closeness will dissolve if he moves too quickly. “That’s a — an Earth name.”
“I know,” is all Keith says.

In the Galra!Verse, Keith sacrifices himself in a final effort to defeat Zarkon. Upon the death of the emperor, an explosion of pure quintessence sends Shiro and their young son into an alternate reality where he faces himself, quite literally, and a version of Keith who - to his elation - is still alive.
As time passes and solutions to the paladins' new arrival allude them, Shiro must understand this is not the same Keith he built a family with, no matter how similar they might be, no matter how much he wishes for it to be true. This isn't his Keith. Not even when they kiss.OR
Galra!Shiro is sad and doesn't know what the hell is going on or how to handle himself.
