Eito could feel his own lips moving, but for once, words failed him. Nothing came—he couldn’t do anything but stare, his eyes soaking in every detail: a nose and mouth and face that weren’t his own, undistorted by churning flesh and gnashing teeth. He tightened his grip, unwilling to let him go. “Who… who are you?”
The boy just blinked at him, his face a blank slate.

Eito realized something. Yes, he hated how alphas were trying to court Takumi.
Not because he cared. But because Takumi’s own scent was—tolerable. One of the few that didn’t make him want to vomit into the nearest garbage can. But if Takumi smelled like half the school’s alpha population, then as his singing partner, Eito would be the one dealing with it.
That was unacceptable.
