Summary
John hummed a song that he had heard on the radio. He knew he wasn't doing it right. His voice couldn't reach the high notes without warbling out of tune and he couldn't remember the second half. So he just made it up. Over and over again.
He hummed to pass the time at night. Sometimes sung too. Normally he wouldn't risk singing while Arthur was awake, lest he be mocked or told to shut it, but he knew Arthur well enough by now to know that when he took a life he was almost unresponsive.
