Summary
During the time loop, Lovelace develops a new obsession: watching the man who shot her in the head pace around the brig, biding his time and waiting for his moment. He scares her more now than he did before the mutiny, but to her dawning horror, it's not just fear that draws her to him.
As Day 1093 plays out repeatedly, for over two months, Lovelace fantasises about using the daily reset to hold him at gunpoint and take what she wants from him, without consequences. When the loop snaps, and time returns to normal, she's left frustrated by the loss of something she's never dared to take.
But is it still possible Kepler will play along with her fantasies, given the right incentive? And how can she ever not hate herself if he does?

After their return to Earth, there’s not much Kepler and Lovelace can agree on. Basketball, surprisingly, is one of the very few exceptions. Sort of.

That night’s show was horrible. The worst they’d had in years. A swarm of paparazzi was waiting when the bus pulled up to the venue, following them and flinging accusations all the way to the backstage door. R’s fan base showed up with vengeance in their hearts. Security escorted them out, but the crowd was on edge and the band was frustrated. It couldn’t be over fast enough.
Worst of all? R was waiting for them in the green room.
