The two sit on the bench in complete silence, three feet apart from each other, watching an old man throw seeds at pigeons in the distance. And after thirty whole minutes with no exchange whatsoever, Edgeworth collects his briefcase and stands up.
“I enjoyed our talk, Wright,” he says with an ever-so-slight hint of a laugh in his voice. “But I need to depart now. I will see you next time.”
“O-Oh, yeah! Uh, see you next time!”
It takes everything for Phoenix to not just explode on the spot as he watches Edgeworth walk away. The instant the prosecutor disappears from his line of vision, he shoves his face into his hands and screams like the depths of hell. How did he fuck up that bad? How will he ever recover from this?! They didn’t even speak! Was Edgeworth just mocking him with that comment? He might as well just fake his death now to save himself from the humiliation!
or, Phoenix is a disaster, so his friends (not-so-secretly) help wingman him to get with Edgeworth. However, that may prove more difficult than expected, especially with Edgeworth’s situation. How will the attempts play out?
