Jayce's eyes don't avert. They stay on him. He doesn't blink. He doesn't smile. Just stares. Viktor wonders if he's even listening to Heimerdinger.
He feels like he's being choked. The weight of his eyes crush him with the intensity in them. Viktor honestly can't tell what the intensity is. Intense lust? Intense urge to kill? Intense obsession? It could be any of them. All of them.
Viktor exhales sharply as he looks away.
The back of his head tingles. He can still feel it. Feel him.

There's a droning clock chime. Jayce hears it from a distance. A close distance. He turns around and walks to his window.
A grandfather clock. It sits outside in the snow, in front of a tree, like it's always been there.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
It chimes.
Then it ticks again. Jayce can only stare at it. Watching as the pendulum swings inside the clock. The chime surrounds him, droning and dramatic.

Jayce's heart drops.

"What the hell do you want?" He says, his voice stern. Caitlyn sits up straighter, suddenly more alert.
"I heard it's your birthday. Happy Birthday."
"I don't want to hear it from you."
"But I have a birthday surprise for you! Consider it a gift."
"I don't want it. Fuck off!"
Ghostface laughs over the phone.
"I'll see you there." Then he hangs up.

She has him wrapped around her finger, grabbing his hair and tucking him between her legs. Mel isn't careful because she doesn't care. Her words are sweet as honey as her nails dig into his thighs, tearing at his walls, his lips bruised.
She never cuts her nails, a new manicure every week.
Viktor doesn't touch him afterward, and Mel gives him things to cover the blood staining the towel beneath his thighs. It's clothes, necklaces, even a guitar. Mel doesn't cover it up, just keeps it there, too close.
Viktor pushes him away like he has the plague, his arms barely brushing his in front of the others, his fingers on his shoulder. He barely spends more time looking at him than usual, the three seconds he steals from the world to stare at him.
"Your homework is wrong, correct it." He hears someone laugh behind him, Viktor's eyes flicking to the next boy.
It never lasts long.
