With Sirius free from Azkaban and taking up his role as Harry's guardian, Voldemort pursuing a political path to power rather than bloodshed, and a defense teacher that isn't actively trying to kill him for once, Harry has high hopes for his third year at Hogwarts. Summary
Lord Voldemort emerged into consciousness as an intangible spirit after an indeterminate time in non-being. At first, he believed it meant one of his Horcruxes had survived; ecstatic at having conquered Death yet again, he made to fly into the sky and observe his new surroundings, only to find he was not so free-roaming as he had thought.
(In which Harry Potter keeps the Resurrection Stone on a ring, after the war - and his absentminded spinning of the ring is summoning Voldemort's spirit, even if Potter can't actually see him-)

Summary
When the Boy-Who-Lived stood in the middle of the clearing, waiting for death with terrified yet resigned eyes, the Dark Lord Voldemort thought that he had finally won. That he could now shape the world the way he was always meant to do, with no Dumbledore, no prophecy, no boy with green eyes stubbornly standing in his way. He raised his wand and confidently cast the Killing Curse and, once again, his life fell apart.

When Harry chooses to come back to life, he takes with him the entirety of Voldemort's soul. In doing so, Voldemort's mind and body reset to the time right before he made his first horcrux; he is seventeen again, and does not seem to remember the horrors he has committed. The Light wins the war, and is left with an impossible decision. What should be done with Tom Marvolo Riddle?
