Helmeppo raises an eyebrow. “Call me crazy, but isn’t being overprotective a big brother’s job?”
“I guess,” Koby mutters. “But it’s so much more than that. It’s like—it’s like he’s upset about something, but I don’t know what. And he won’t tell me, because he’s an asshole and doesn’t talk about his feelings.”
Or: When Zeff heads to a fancy chefs expo, he lets Koby and Sanji tag along. Koby wasn't expecting to run into Helmeppo at the party. He also wasn't expecting Sanji to freak out.

“Squiggles?” Carne tilts his head.
“Accent marks,” Patty realizes. Over half their shit is categorized in French. No wonder Koby got confused.
Or: As one of two resident gossip hounds on Baratie, Patty uncovers a secret that's been hidden right under his nose: Koby can't read.
He and Carne have to remedy this. Obviously.
