"You're high," you tell him.
Zane's smile is lazy, filthy. "You like me high."
You snarl your fingers in his hair and pull until he moans, obscene and opened-mouthed. He's right. He's your rock-star. Your bisexual European hedonist, a perfect edgy plot device to give the narrative some texture. Immoral, frivolous, and flirtatious, someone the hero can have a little modern tension with before going back to the real story of saving his wife.
At least, that's how the other you would write it. He'd congratulate himself on pushing the envelope.
