"...are you alright...?" Pulling back, he tries not to visibly react at how exhausted they look, even after a full night's sleep. He feels helpless.
"Mm..." Their eye slides shut. "...just tired. Carry on without me."
"If you're sure..." Sitting up, he leans over to press a kiss to their unscarred cheek, finding himself frowning when they don't react. "...I love you."
"...love you..." Even saying that seems to take up a good amount of their energy, as they immediately slump further into the pile of furs serving as the pair's bed.
It's bad today.
