Summary
It started, as most calamities do, with silence.
He always sat by the window, where the light could not quite reach him, as if the sun itself was wary of his stillness. I always watched him—Sae Itoshi, the guy who made absence look divine. His voice was a rumour, his heart a locked cathedral I wanted to enter barefoot.
I smiled at him, because that is what I do when I do not know how else to feel. He did not smile back, because that is what he does when he feels everything all at once.
There are people who arrive in your life like a sentence you cannot finish. He was one of them.
In which, Sae Itoshi majors in astrophysics whereas Bunny Iglesias uses papers like bandages and blood as ink.
While cathedral bells chime and the soundwaves travel through the space between them, will they let gravity weigh them down; or defy the laws of physics and float toward the sun where a brighter future enshrines?
