Summary
There it was. The words of which he did not know the meaning of. Big words. Words that felt faintly familiar, like he could remember what they meant if he tried hard enough. Words he had seen in papers or studies, maybe in a crossword years ago.
“I’m sorry.” Kaveh couldn’t react right away, he wasn’t sure what he was supposed to be feeling just yet. “Multiple sclera-what?”
“Multiple sclerosis.” The doctor corrected. Kaveh nodded, once. He thought that was the normal thing to do when presented with new information. “It’s an autoimmune disorder that mainly affects your central nervous system. It causes breakdown of the protective covering of the nerves, also known as the myelin cover.”
“My nerves…” Kaveh started the sentence but the air inside his lungs felt heavier than the air out of his body. He felt something drop inside his body. “…are being stripped of their covers?”

Summary
Alhaitham comes to learn that Kaveh skates like he has something to prove after his team loses.
Perhaps it’s anger that fuels him — emotions can feel different from person-to-person, made obvious by the variety of descriptors used in literature, so perhaps Kaveh’s anger is light. Maybe it fills him like helium, and it is that rage, tremulous and shaky, that allows him to dance around Alhaitham as if he’s feather-light. Maybe it’s something else. Alhaitham would rather watch him than analyze him.
Alhaitham Volans and Kaveh Pairidaeza begin and end a friendship.

Summary
Kaveh should be dead. The last thing he remembers is his plane nosediving into the ocean, but instead he finds he's woken up in an unfamiliar infirmary in a place that reminds him of Sumeru, a region from his favorite gacha game, and very clearly in a body that is not his own. Accompanying him is a floating holographic screen that insists on calling itself "System" rather than "hallucination." As if waking up in a fictional world wasn’t bad enough, he's transmigrated as a crappy, two-dimensional villain, destined to die by Alhaitham's blade in only a few years' time.
He only knows one thing for sure: his luck is spectacularly terrible.
