The mission reminded Garrus how closely death is hovering over them, and how much he stands to lose if it catches up. It quietly and quickly eats at him until it spills out, something that hasn’t happened in years. It’s terrifying, knowing you could lose someone you love at any moment, and stress relief can only help so much. He just needs her to live.
