Summary
the main story is the three part slow burn steter fic - trust, promise, love - and it is completed.
the rest of the parts in the series are just extra fics about the things they all get up to after the main story is completed. there is no set number of extra parts but as of 7/2021 there are at least 3 more on the way.
as of 10/2021 the main 3 part series has been completed and 2 additional parts are done. there is one more for sure already being worked on.
as of 1/2022 the series is complete. there may be one additional fic posted that is just a collection of scenes that never made it into the rest of the fic. but other than that we are finished. i started writing this in January 2021 and a year later i have finished what I originally set out to write.
final update: 2/28/2022 - the last part of this thing is up, the final bits and pieces that i never found places for in the other parts of the series. i have no intentions of coming back to this au but it has been amazing.

The first place Stiles goes when he gets back to Beacon Hills isn’t his Dad’s house. It probably should have been – he’d been on the road for hours, wasn’t sleeping well, and probably should have headed straight for a bed. It hadn’t even occurred to him until he was parked at an access point to the forest that covered the Beacon Hills preserve. It wouldn’t have mattered. He wouldn’t have slept anyway. Sleep was where Sienna was, and he didn’t want to be there.

Summary
"Bad day?" Stiles whispered gently, his hands coming up to card through the older man's hair and rub at his scalp. Derek moaned at the action and nodded, not even bothering with words. Stiles continued to massage his scalp for a few moments before pulling back, trying to ignore the sting in ha chest when Derek whimpered. Stiles was firm though, pressing a kiss to Derek's forehead before letting go.
"Go get in the shower - I'll be there in a minute." He said, voice leaving no room for argument. Derek gazed at him, hesitantly taking a few steps away from Stiles and out into the hallway. Stiles followed him out and then watched him step towards the staircase. Derek hesitated, turning in Stiles direction again but Stiles shook his head, ushering him on.
"I love you." Stiles called, seeing some of the tension bleed from Derek's face. "Now go!"
