Summary
Akira had been participating in the drug trials since his third visit to the clinic. It took a bit of charm, plenty of guts, and enough energy that he wanted to put his head through a wall on at least six occasions. However, he prevailed. For the sake of Takemi’s medicinal advancements, and for the discounts she gave him. It was a bit of a grey zone, he knew, because it wasn’t like he actually had a guardian agree on his behalf to the drug trials. That, and who knew if Takemi was actually allowed to do this—some or all of it had to be behind the curtains, surely. Hence, the reason why others finding out was a problem. Enter: Goro Akechi. What the hell was Akira supposed to do against that?
(or: akechi catches onto something, and akira wants nothing more than to go back to bed. that, and to get akechi to drop it.)

“—I hurt you,” Susie finished. She chewed on the concept, the edges of her voice frantic, her throat thick. “Because you deserved it.”
“Yes.” Kris pressed her hands against their chest. They smiled in a way that failed to be reassuring. Each desperate breath shuddering through their lungs confirmed everything Susie didn't want to know. “S’fine. It’s okay.”
Kris burned like a charred pan straight out of the oven, or an oil fire stoked by liquor. Susie reeled away. “You—you were trying to set me up,” Susie accused, trying to edge words around the chasm opening in her gut. “You were trying to get me to hit you.”
Kris wants Susie to hurt them. They need her to hurt them. Susie isn't as on board with the idea as they are.
