Summary
“It’s weird, not having Robby here,” Mel is saying, dragging Samira back into the conversation between the residents. “And Dr Al-Hashimi hasn't shown up either.” That is strange, Samira thinks absently. Dr Bryan is back from semi-retirement to cover as attending, but the absence is noticeable. “I'm sure we can figure out how to be good teachers, but it’s a little harder when you don't have your mentor to help."
“I don’t know,” Samira mutters before she can stop herself, still staring at Dr Abbot’s letter on her screen. “Just do the opposite of whatever Robby would do.”
It’s only in the expanding silence afterward that Samira realizes she has said that it out loud.
In the wreckage left after the 4th of July shift, Samira starts gathering the shattered pieces of her life. The question now is in what order does she want to put them together.

Summary
Emery Walsh returns from vacation to find that PTMC's emergency department has a brand new attending physician: charismatic, cooperative, and with a voice sweet like honey that Emery can't seem to get out of her mind, no matter how much she despises sweet things. She finds herself drifting towards the ED before and after her shift, if just to catch a short conversation with the new attending.
Baran Al-Hashimi is trying to carve her place in the emergency department as a reliable and caring attending, which means cooperation with all of the staff. Though everyone warns her that the complex attending surgeon is a bit angry and tough to handle, Baran can't help but look forward to seeing her for the few minutes she can every day. And Baran just can't believe what everyone says about Emery, because Emery is as pleasant as ever around Baran.

Summary
Baran cocked her head marginally. Her gaze bounced across Santos’ face, the shadow of a smile playing at her lips, trying to read what she saw on there. She could never quite understand which side of the line between sincerity and sarcasm Santos was on at any given time, and had made a small game of trying to work out which. For example here, the slightly raised left eyebrow along with the dry tone was enough to lead to the conclusion that this interaction was not entirely free of scorn. Baran decided she could live with that.
OR
trinity santos keeps overhearing private conversations, and finds out more about her new attending than she meant (or wanted) to. baran al hashimi struggles to settle into her new job, and finds an unlikely ally in trinity. the two orbit each other, two black holes circling one another. unfortunately, a collision is inevitable, and the aftermath may bring them both to their knees.

Summary
Okay, so this new episode brought me out of my writer's block, I decided to start a fic. Anyway, the start of the fic is think Abbot and Robby scene at the end of season 1, but this time it's my chaotic duo, Langdon and Santos.
For the entire fic the summary would be basically if I wrote the rest of the Pitt season 2 and it was Langdon focused and his journey to renter his place in the hospital, using the dynamics the season has given us so far. So you will see multiple dynamics but langtos is the starting point
Major trigger warning for mental health, suicide attempt, talks about it etc. Heavy talks about recovery from drug abuse so please read at your own discretion. I care about your mental health guys.
March 16th: This was originally a one shot but I got comments so far saying people would love this to be a multi chapter fic so that is happening!

What if season 2 had felt more like season 1? An exploration of how some relatively small adjustments could've made the whole season — especially Samira's, Al-Hashimi's, Abbot's, and Robby's arcs — much, much stronger.

Summary
Trinity Santos is out at a bar, alone because her best friend moved out, her situationship ended, and she didn't have anyone else to go with, her work day had been shit, it was one of those days where trauma after trauma came in, and you could barely take a break long enough to catch your breath before something else happened, Trinity just wanted to unwind, she didn't want to go home yet, because the thought of being home alone terrified her more than she'd like to admit, so here she is, some random bar she chose because she thought it'd be the least possible place where she'd see any of her coworkers, she has several drinks before she decides she's drunk enough to call it a night and head home, but something goes wrong, she starts feeling weird on her walk to the apartment, her mind gets really fuzzy, and she can't quite get her legs to cooperate with her, she's so busy trying to focus that she doesn't notice the man who had followed her out of the bar, who's been watching her all night, who'd slipped something into her drink, Trinity Santos had been having a god awful day, and unfortunately for her, it's about to get a whole lot worse.

One of the hardest parts of working in the healthcare system was realising how no one had fought for her when she was a child. No one had protected her. So Trinity would be damned if she let this patient go without helping her, even if it costs her everything.

The drawings stared at Trinity with their crayon and marker and 2B pencil, warm and unjudgmental. Sometimes, when shift really sucked, she’d head to her locker and look at them, and they’d help.
No matter what anyone screamed at her, no matter what awful shit her mind cooked up at 2am, Santos had been a good doctor for those children. Some days, it was the only thing that kept her afloat.

Summary
John Shen doesn't believe in coincidences. He believes in patterns.
He also believes, very firmly, that when two highly competent doctors who don't usually share shifts suddenly started overlapping at two in the morning, it is not a scheduling anomaly.
It is a situation.
And Shen, unfortunately for everyone involved, is very good at identifying situations.
