Summary
Gyuvin was not the type of person to have an intricate plan for his future. But Gyuvin also never expected the one constant, the near sole purpose, of his life to vanish one day, without warning.
Left to pick up the pieces of his shattered life alone, Gyuvin never thought he could hate someone as desperately as he wanted to hate Ricky.
It was a hate weaved so deeply into his skin that it held him together against the unending waves of grief that attacked him relentlessly. When some days were harder to bear than others, Gyuvin used it to remind himself that Ricky had chosen to leave him.
But for some reason, on quiet nights, when Gyuvin finds himself aimlessly staring out into the twilight, he could swear he sometimes sees Ricky staring back at him.
Had he always been that pale?

“Right,” Gyuvin says, closing the window behind him. When he turns around, his expression is unreadable, their faces a little too close. “And we’ll still be friends no matter what.”
The masochistic knife in Ricky’s gut twists, as it does every time he’s reminded of the promise they made as kids: their designations would never come in the way of their friendship. Even though Ricky would very much like them to, for selfish reasons. Pining for his best friend—how much more cliché could he get?
OR: Ricky is tired of dancing around his feelings for Gyuvin. So is Hao. Ricky just needs a boost in the right direction—and if he finally presents as an omega, even better.

“You’re having a birthday party?” Ricky snorted, trying to mask how taken aback he felt that he was being invited to a party hosted by someone he’d met in the most awkward way possible just a half hour ago. “What are you, four?”
Gyuvin’s lower lip jutted out indignantly again. “Not everyone hates joy, you know. Besides, it’s not going to have, like, a bouncy castle or anything. Just friends and games and cake in my apartment, maybe.”
“No bouncy castle? And here I was looking forward to it.”

“So… Just friends? Like you don’t even kiss anymore?” Gyuvin couldn’t explain rationally why he was so curious about his best friend’s relationship with Jiwoong, but he had to get answers, no matter how awkward it felt. He knew that the answer was probably no, anyway.
The response had Gyuvin in shock.
“Oh come on now, I kiss most of my friends,” Ricky laughed at the innocent question.
Gyuvin gasped, suddenly offended. “You don’t kiss me!” Not that he’d want to kiss Ricky. No, because Gyuvin was straight. Straighter than the breadstick from dinner the night before. He wasn’t offended that they don’t kiss, just offended that he’d never been given the option.
...
Gyuvin was most certainly straight. In fact, he was so secure in his sexuality that he decided to go to a gay college party as an ally. He'd finally get to meet the guy that Ricky used to see (that Gyuvin had probable reason to dislike) as well as get drunk. A win-win. Well, a few drinks later and Gyuvin was making interesting choices on the dance floor... A certain choice would leave him questioning his sexuality forever.
But hey, he definitely did not have feelings for his best friend, regardless of his sexuality!

Summary
Gyuvin feels his face flush as his brain throws up several unhelpful and frankly deeply inappropriate images of Ricky to be experiencing in the middle of a pet store.
“This is your fault,” he whispers at the little dog, and Eumppappa blinks her giant eyes up at him innocently.
Gyuvin lives an unexciting life working the night shift and avoiding his unfriendly roommate. A stray dog turns it all upside down.
