Summary
Leah had been working as a geologist with Nasa for just over three years, but it still didn’t feel real. She still felt like the anxious, worried 22 year old intern who had all the education and experience, she was qualified, but it didn’t feel that way.
She was lucky enough to not be working at a desk all day everyday. She knew many geologists in her graduating class that were confined to research at a desk. Her research was hands-on, observing and manipulating different igneous and metamorphic rock samples.
About halfway through her internship, she was given more moon-related samples. By the time she was a permanent her work shifted almost totally to metamorphic (or moon) samples, which she excelled with.
In fact she didn’t know it, but some of the most detailed and well constructed reports coming out of the department were hers. Now, as a junior specialist she is being praised for discoveries and expertise by her senior colleagues, and then it happened. She was newly appointed as the geology liaison for the Artemis II crew.
Thats when she met Christina.
