Summary
Five years ago, Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland said goodbye at Borussia Dortmund, promising that distance wouldn't change anything between them. And somehow, they kept that promise.
Across different leagues, countries, and clubs, they remained each other's constant. Late-night calls became routine, endless messages bridged the distance, and somewhere between shared victories and whispered congratulations, friendship quietly became something neither of them dared acknowledge.
Then, after the 2026 World Cup, Manchester City brought them back together, and now, for the first time in five years, they were again sharing the same pitch, the same dressing room, and the same city. They finally have everything they thought they wanted.
Until they realize it's a lot harder to pretend you're just best friends when the person you love is standing right beside you.

Summary
Jude has no idea what time it is in Europe right now. His brain is muddled, so full of memories of the match that he doesn't want to think about and other, older memories that he should definitely keep hidden deep down. Memories of Erling and the times they’ve spent together in hotel rooms, celebrating wins and distracting each other from losses. Jude could use a distraction like that tonight.
[After losing in the World Cup semi-finals, there is only one person Jude wants to call.]
