Summary
His gaze flickered to his left, landing on the closed toilet lid. No, it was fine. He didn't need it. Just because he saw someone vomit didn't mean he had to, that would make no sense.
But the girl in the show vomited because she was dizzy, and the room felt like it was spinning awfully fast right now. Everything seemed to be slowly shrinking away from Lloyd. The mirror a never ending chasm in the wall, putting too much distance between him and his reflection.
Too much distance between him and the toilet.
He didn't need it but- oh god what if.
Or: Lloyd gets triggered by a movie the kids make him watch and runs to big sis Nya for comfort.

Summary
Lloyd stirring beside him brought him back to the present. Green and gold eyes pierced Kai's hazel ones as he found Lloyd staring up at him. "Are you okay?"
He smiled. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"
"You were thinking to hard again." Kai looked at him quizzically, "Your face it like- It's like you disappear for a minute, your eyes go all blank, and you stare at nothing."
"You say that like someone who didn't just collapse into my arms." He smirked as Lloyd scrambled for a justification, "And besides, I was just thinking about how much better it was when you and Nya had to stay behind on missions. Where I could keep you safe." A wave of anxiety swelled up inside him. Maybe that was a little to sensitive for the kid's current emotional state.
Or: Lloyd's just gone through a harsh transition into his dragoni traits. Something extremely painful and nerve wracking- especially when your greatest fear is being like your father. Kai and Lloyd take a day to themselves to learn what being not-so-human entails.

The door swung open near my feet and light flooded into the room. Two figures paused in the doorway, their shadows cast along the wood floor.
“Who… Kai?” I slurred, trying to turn my head to the door, “I…”
He knelt at my bedside. “Hey kid, don’t try to talk okay? Just relax, we’re here.”
“M’kay.” I mumbled.
A hand combed through my hair, occasionally catching on a knot or tangle and working through it slowly.
“How… How are you feeling? I heard you were pretty sick,” he asked, still looking at my head.
“Mhm. Better,” I mumbled drowsily, “Head hurts.”
Or: Zane helps Lloyd navigate a painful transition into his new dragoni traits, and Kai and Nya are there to support their little green bean.

A wave of nausea fought against the pain for my attention—a push-pull of discomfort.
Kai’s chair creaked softly as he rocked back and forth on two legs, clearly only half listening to whatever Zane was on about now. Even the small noise felt amplified to my sensitive ears.
‘Just from blasting my headphones,’ I told myself, ‘Definitely not anything to worry about.’
Another surge of nausea threatened to spill from my stomach. The muscles in my core tightened at the possibility.
‘Just get through this meeting, then you can lie down and ride this out. Like ten more minutes.’
Bold of me to assume I could last another ten minutes.
Or: When Lloyd suddenly starts feeling tired and sore, he blames it on overtraining, but what if something worse is hiding beneath the pain? Something connected to his not-so-human heritage?

I chuckled nervously, “Yeah.”
The awkward silence finally ended when Kai burst into the room and whisper shouted, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t keep them there any longer. Is he-” Kai noticed Sora, Arin, and I in the room, “-okay. Um, Hi.”
“Lloyd has horns.” Arin stated, still staring.
“And wings.” Sora said.
Or: When Lloyd grows horns and wings overnight Nya is there to help him through it, but how can he take the time to rest when there is so much to do?
