Summary
Space is kind of lonely.
It’s the only thing Buck really knows: being alone up here really fucking sucks.
Oh. And he knows his name. Buck. He’s going to have to have a strongly worded conversation with his parents if he ever gets out of here because who the hell names their kid Buck?
So yeah. He’s Buck and space sucks. The sum total of things he knows.
He’s figuring the rest out.
or, Buck's alone in space, and Eddie comes to find him

Summary
Finally, when he feels like he hasn’t swallowed a mouthful of sand, Buck asks, “What happened?”
“I’m gonna kick your ass is what happened,” Maddie says, slamming the cup on the tray beside his bed. There’s only so much noise styrofoam can make but Buck knows Maddie put her best effort into making a point with the gesture. He winces. “How long have you gone without scening?”
And isn’t that a loaded question that Buck doesn’t even know how to start responding to.
Buck is having a hard time taking care of himself; Eddie won't let that happen.

Summary
Buck is definitely not jealous. He just doesn’t like Tommy. He doesn’t like how he fits into Eddie’s life so easily. He doesn’t like how he’s easy and fun and cool and exciting, and Buck is sure Eddie is going to realize it and Buck is going to be replaced and lose everything.
Instead of talking about it, Buck decides that he can be fun too. Then Eddie gets hurt and it’s all his fault. Buck will do anything to be good again so Eddie will forgive him. Even if he hurts himself doing it.
Eddie doesn’t realize until it’s too late that Buck wasn’t just acting out, he was scared. And now he’s dropping hard.

Summary
Eddie’s terrified. The weight lodged in his chest has shifted to complete and utter panic. His skin is hot. His eyes are burning. There was once a time when he’d say, I do not panic, but even that was a lie. Eddie panics a lot, actually. But he’s been taught how to manage it, how to make himself Jello, how to bring himself back to reality.
But this reality is what’s panic-inducing, and he can’t Jello himself out of this one.
Because he’s not scared for himself. Eddie’s killed men before. More than four at a time. Eddie’s, objectively, been in worse situations than this. Eddie’s been shot and stabbed and buried.
But he’s never been in a situation like this, with a four-year-old who means the world to him, a four-year-old who’s Buck’s son.

Or - Eddie takes Theo to the mall. The trip does NOT go as planned, when robbers infiltrate and they’re forced into a hostage situation.

Summary
“Tell me your story,” Buck asks, once they’re all settled in his office-slash-living room. It’s become his go-to ice-breaker for new clients—how could he expect to plan their wedding if he doesn’t know who they are as a couple? Sure, he’s a romantic, but it’s also practical. It’s how he learns how to turn the big day from great into something magical. He sips his coffee, leaving his notepad in his bag for now. He wants this to be as natural as possible, and he can jot down his notes later.
Ana, the bride-to-be, smiles brightly, linking her fiancé’s hand with her own. “We met about three years ago. I was his son’s teacher.”
“She’s amazing with him,” the fiancé, Eddie, cuts in. He’s incredibly handsome, with his brown eyes and long lashes, perfect smile, and hair combed to the side. They make a beautiful couple.
