Ever since the first time Ilya gave Shane the reins, it’s only gotten easier to slip into that more submissive space. Jeongin wondered what they were talking about. Inside jokes, and things Jeongin wouldn't understand. Things he wasn't part of anymore and fuck did that hurt more than he really expected it to. Aside from losing the possibility of being loved back, it felt like he was losing small pieces of Hyunjin that once only belonged to him.
Those late night conversations, or the small looks he'd give him across crowded rooms. The way Hyunjin used to seek him out first.. Now, Jeongin sat quietly in the background while his heart slowly broke.
Or: Jeongin chooses to let his disease take over, leaving Hyunjin and Jisung to grieve him.
