The city is quiet for once. No sirens, no radio static, just the muffled sound of flakes hitting the pavement.
Katsuki stands under the same rusted streetlamp he's used for half a decade, a warm can of coffee to accompany his freezing self. His hero gear was put away tonight, replaced by a sweater and long coat- the collar turned up against the chill, a crochet scarf wrapped around the neckline and his black wool beanie worn low. He checks his phone- "12:38 PM".
They've done this 11 times already, yet somehow, that idiot's always late. Now Katsuki knows the rhythm of those boots on the snow before he even senses the shadow...

“Hey!” Bakugou flicks his forehead, “Are you even listening?”
“You have pretty eyes.” Shouto blurts out.
They just stare at each other for a moment, Bakugou’s eyes widening as he shifts back. Shouto can feel his legs tense up on top of him.
“What the hell are you saying?!”
“You have pretty eyes,” Shouto repeats, “And eyelashes too. They’re very long.”
Okay, the second part came out of nowhere, but he can’t take it back now. Bakugou’s face freezes up, and his aforementioned eyes blink aggressively. His face flushes, a shade too pink to be blamed on the exercise as he leaps off Shouto’s body.

zhongli sighs when he places a tender kiss on venti's forehead, smiling slightly at the familiar feel of bangs tickling his nose.
"a new game, you have to guide a lost soul."
"a-ah... how long has it been since the last...?"
"5 years."silence.
venti frowns as he licks his lips. guiding someone to their true freedom was always a joy to do but they both knew it's because of something much worse. he breathes in while zhongli carries him to their large kitchen.
"how bad... how bad is it?" his voice is nervous, cracking.the reapers game is set again, making the composer wake from his slumber and the reapers stir in agitation to win the game. it's unfortunate because xiao, who thinks himself as a decent person despite his misgivings, is the poor fool that becomes the chosen pawn to win the complicated chess game. the only thing welcoming xiao is realizing he's dead and hell is probably paradise compared to this mess.
