What matters is this, here: Pantalone jams his pointer and middle fingers into his mouth. A rosy fixture atop porcelain skin marred into creases–both from age and fire–ajar to send a protest Pantalone’s way. Before he can try, Pantalone parts his fingers and slides them to either side of his gums, exposing two rows of exquisite teeth.
And four unmistakably pointed canines.
Or, wherein Dottore summons Pantalone after work hours for an impromptu "emergency" meeting.

Summary
What do you say to a man who destroyed every version of himself except the one frozen at the peak of his own selfishness, the one least capable of being loved, and the one who never learned what it is to care about another?
The answer is not so simple.
But Pantalone stays anyway and learns that loving what remains of a man is nothing like loving the man himself.

In an alternate universe where Dottore is not a Harbinger, Pantalone is assigned a peculiar mission by the Tsaritsa: to cultivate the mysterious Perfume Doctor's alleged "power." Soon after making contact, Pantalone grows to understand he is not the only one of them on the hunt. Alternatively: an AU heavily inspired by Patrick Süskind's 'Perfume: The Story of a Murderer.'
