Summary
No, nevermind.
This was her favorite, she amended as his smile twisted.
While most would insist that it marred his features, Helga adored the crease that appeared between Arnold's brows whenever she successfully riled him up.

Summary
Dear Arnold, she ultimately writes. Original. Simple.
Pathetically. Slowly.
With more effort than should be reasonable.
Phoebe would probably flick her ear and Helga would let her.
She deserves it.

Summary
In a universe where FTi succeeds, peer counselor Arnold didn't expect to crash into a new student, Helga, partway through his Junior year of high school, let alone become her first victim. He writes her off for what she appears to be: a violent bully who was recently expelled from her last school... until she recites one of her poems.
Unbeknownst to them, it may surprisingly, connect them and their past closer than they ever would have thought.

Summary
When they walked back, Arnold and Helga held hands. Maybe it should have been uncomfortable: it was warm, their palms became sweaty, and he didn't know whether or not it was to comfort her or himself or the both of them—but when they reached her house and it was time to let go, he couldn't.
Helga was the one to yank away, eyes full of hurt and it felt awful. Awful and familiar, seeing her slink back into the safety behind her doors.
There was a reason why they were teased growing up.
He had never fought those rumors either.

Summary
Arnold sounds a bit out of breath, like he'd scrambled to the other end of his apartment to answer her call.
Which would have be cute—adorable even—had Helga not done this over a dozen times over a dozen years, and if she believed in it, a dozen lifetimes.
-- In which Helga makes an important phone call, in Alaska, wondering why the hell she's there in the first place.
