Summary
Steve takes in Eddie after his run in with the demo bats. Steve works to heal Eddie's wounds, only Eddie is figuring out how to heal Steve's emotional wounds at the same time.

“So… shower? How exactly do you think that will work?” Eddie questions.
“I’m thinking I’ll carry you in and have you sit on the floor of the shower. I can wash your hair and clean you up if you’re comfortable with that.” Steve shrugs like it’s no big deal. Just normal casual friend behavior. Nothing intimate about it at all. Whatsoever.
Eddie stares agape for a moment. Steve is about to retract his statement when Eddie responds, “Well, of course, Stevie. It seems I will be getting the Harrington special treatment after all. Lucky me.”

By now, Eddie shouldn’t be surprised when Steve shows up with something, but when he walks in with a nice flower bouquet on the day that Eddie is finally being released from the hospital, he can’t help but stare at him in disbelief.
“Got a big date to get to after driving me home, Harrington?” Eddie asks, ignoring the sting he feels at his own words.
“Hopefully,” he says before taking a deep breath and holding the flowers out to Eddie. “These are for you.”
