Summary
Lately, your boyfriend has been weird. Avoiding kissing you, avoiding holding you too close. Sure, sometimes he liked space-you did too. So you didn't question it. But after running some errands this summer afternoon, he finally closed the distance. Not because he finally wanted to, but because your smell was different. different because you hugged a guy you hadn't seen since college. And his being irritated was an understatement.

Summary
There are about twenty—thirty, even—different reasons why he should’ve left you at the bar. Brian chooses to ignore them. Maybe he chooses to gaslight himself into believing that there isn’t even a list, and that he’s not a murderer working for an eldritch entity. He’s about to tell you to get out of the drying mud, but you’re on him before he can get a sound out.
Or, Brian's truck breaks down and he borrows your phone. You then hook up in his car.

Summary
This is the first time he’s heard your voice since he left over four days ago.
Call him needy if you want, but Habit didn’t realise how much he missed you until you started blindly rambling about workplace drama.
----
Or, HABIT's in the middle of dragging someone through the forest when you call. HABIT proceeds to jerk off in front of a dying guy.

Summary
The door gave way under her hand with a quiet push, the hinge letting out a soft, tired creak that barely cut through the sounds of the ER. Her gaze landed on him immediately, posture first, then positioning, then the way he held his shoulder, and she closed the door behind her.
She crossed the room at an even pace, pulling the stool closer with a quiet scrape against the floor before sitting, her attention settling fully on him now, steady and direct. "Hello Tim Wright, I'm Y/N L/N, I'll be your doctor tonight" she said.
The room was dimmer than the hallway, not by much, but enough that the light settled differently against the walls, softer, less aggressive. It made everything feel quieter than it actually was, like the noise from the ER stopped just short of crossing the threshold.
Her gaze didn’t drift. It stayed on his face just long enough to establish presence, to read what little he allowed to show, before shifting down to his shoulder.

In a town where nothing ever really happens, you were the one exception. The youngest doctor. The best they had. The one everyone trusted. Until one night, everything changed.
