Summary
After the truth about Gabriel Agreste is exposed in Paris and Ladybug's reputation is destroyed, Marinette chooses self-imposed exile and flees to Shanghai, China, where she begins living with her great-uncle, Wang Cheng. Convinced that Adrien hates her and believing her absence will allow him to move on, she disappears from his life. Before leaving, she entrusts the Miraculous team to Alya, who takes over as Scarabella and assumes leadership of the heroes.
In Shanghai, Marinette is summoned by Suhan to join the Order of the Guardians in Tibet, where she undergoes rigorous training to prepare for the responsibilities that come with being the Guardian of the Miraculous.
