Summary
Celebrían sails to Valinor and though the air is like silver she finds she is bare and fearful; grasped by a world she has only heard of in whispers and her mother's history tales, she spends an absorbing amount of time cracking open the layer of mystery that lays upon the land of the undying.
—
Or, Celebrían goes full detective as a post-trauma healing hobby.

Summary
Elrond frowned and tilted his head: at the very end of the table, the last gift to arrive, laid a small chest forged entirely in silver. An exquisite, if inexplicable gift. There were no seal and no letter accompanying it. Camnir had probably forgotten to include it: all the other gifts had a letter attached, full of solicitude and advice on lordly duties. Elrond lifted the chest, raising it to his curious eyes, turning it around to examine it. The chest was covered in foliage engraving, very faint, barely visible, but noticeable under his fingers. On the bottom, he thought he could guess at the engraving of a tree. What realm could that be? Whose lord was it? As he looked at the bottom, the lid opened, no lock protecting its content, and the gift inside spilled out on his fingers.
After the siege of Ost-in-Edhil, a new palace for the Elves is built, a stronghold against the rising darkness. Elrond Peredhel, the new lord, soon realises that darkness is not done with him yet.

So Fëanáro does not die cursing under the stars.
It softens his temper a mite; binds him tighter to his sons. Still, he remains himself - self-aggrandising, wilful and thorned. So Ñolofinwë does not lose his youngest on Lammoth's shore, and receives his weregild.
Begrudgingly, for the good of all, he will co-operate. Still, despite the noblesse, he is no less hungry and ambitious. Can they build a healthy co-existence? Doubtful, given their past and dispositions. But they can try.
Meanwhile, on the great game's board move a thousand pieces: Thingol negotiates, Artanis and Celeborn court, Findaráto is more than meets the eye, and Lúthien battles the very weaves of fate. Can a less fractured Beleriand stand against Morgoth?

[Yes, there is half-sibling incest, beware! But, at least in my interpretation, they barely interacted in youth, as Fëanor was mostly out of Tirion by the time Fingolfin toddled, so their social and emotional dynamic does not really have familial tones.]- Language:

Feanaro snarled, “I have never in my life fought a beast like you. Are you the son of an elf at all, or did your mother mate with an animal in the woods and slip you once born into your father’s lap? What are you?”
Findekano replied him, choking his words past the weight of the sword on his neck, “I am what you think my father is.”

“Speak and fear not,” Ulmo says. “And thereafter do as thy heart and valor lead thee.”
This is… almost certainly not what the Lord of Waters had in mind.

Tuor blinks. A golden-haired elf on his left and an elf in black and silver on his right. He must be losing his grip, delirious with fatigue and awe. He bows low and steals another glimpse on the way down: a shining lady with an unnervingly direct gaze, decorated in amber and bone; an inscrutable lord with a flinty expression and epaulets of braided chain, his eyes fathomless as the lady’s are luminous.

Still, no one said anything, so introductions were clearly up to Tyelpe. “Celebrimbor,” he said, “Tyelperinquar Curufinwe, if you need it to be that way. I’m exactly who you think I am. I’m s—”
“Yes,” the man interrupted, loud and abrupt. “Yes, I know who you are.”
“Most… do,” Tyelpe responded uncomfortably. (Aredhel sighed softly.)
“That’s good,” said the man. "The thing you're making, that is. It looks good. But I can't tell what it is."
“Uh,” said Tyelpe, who under no circumstances was willing to discuss the thing he was making.
“‘Good to meet you’,” Aredhel prompted, sounding exhausted. “‘And my name is…’”
“Oh!” said the man, and flushed from pink to red. “Oh. I am. Good to meet you. Sorry.”
“It’s—”
“And I’m Lomion,” he said. “Maeglin Lomion. I’m exactly who you think I am too.”

Summary
Time passes, and Elves fade. It is one of the laws of their kind, that even gold cannot stay.
For May, growing up in Valleynor-That-Was, the Faded Ones are a fact of life. He has no particular feelings about them, except that sometimes they're a real hassle (you can't just move them if you want to build something, after all) and he certainly doesn't want to be one, not yet.
But one day he finds a Faded One tucked away, and he thinks: fated one.

Celebrimbor could not heal in the Halls of Mandos. Now reembodied, he is willing to do whatever it takes to find peace - even if that means becoming master to the recently-defeated Sauron.
Being served by a Maia proves far more complicated than he initially anticipated.

Summary
When he woke in his chains, he was glowing. Under the dark streaks of dried blood, light was leaking through his skin. He looked like he’d swallowed a star.
Annatar was standing in front of him, some feet away, his head slightly tilted.
Sauron, not Annatar. Celebrimbor had to remember that, even though it was Annatar studying him; Annatar’s curving mouth and cool eyes –
He wondered, for a moment, what fresh torment the light was meant to be; and then, with a sick awareness, he felt it like black breath on his soul, and he cried out, “What have you done?”

Summary
"It started because of how Celebrían ate her boiled egg. It’s curious how little things — like the way a boiled egg peels — can stir memories without warning. No grand gesture, no significant event, just a well peeled egg swallowed whole and suddenly it is like Fingon is there again, laughing before Maedhros' eyes. Fingon had known a trick to make the whole shell of a boiled egg come off in one, the inner layer peeling off like a second skin clinging tightly to the life it held. He’s never seen Fingon swallow an egg whole and somehow the knowledge makes Maedhros feel rather bereft. Like there's a lifetime of egg-swallowing now lost to them."
_____
When Elladan, Elrohir, Maglor and a grieving Elrond sail to Valinor at the end of the Ring War, they (and Bilbo Baggins) are met by Celebrían and Maedhros, who immediately whisk them off on a journey across the surreal, ever-changing landscapes of Valinor on foot. The destination? The Halls of Mandos, where Fingon's re-embodiment has been inexplicably and indefinitely delayed.Bookmarked by geminary

Summary
Maedhros has seen his father murdered and turn to ashes, then been dragged to the heart of the enemy's lair. Morgoth and Mairon have decided to turn their attentions to him for both business and pleasure; he’s going to need more than luck to survive in one piece.
It's business as usual for Adar’s third millennium of servitude to Morgoth when an elf king of some importance is dragged into Angband - one that Adar is repeatedly called upon to torment. The number of surviving Moriandor are dwindling; it can’t be that bad to try and recruit the elf king, can it? It’s that or watch him become one of the living corpses that Mairon and Morgoth turn their favorites into -
What does he mean, escape? Doesn’t the elf king know that no one escapes Angband?
