Ben scrunched up his nose, his expression sheepish. “I think my brother might be your soulmate.”
Kate couldn’t help but snort. A few minutes ago, she had been ready to shag Ben, and now he was telling her that it was his brother she was meant to be with — if one believed in that nonsense.
Ridiculous. A practical joke by the universe, that’s what that was.
Letting go of her, Ben held up his pointer finger. “Just let me call him. I’m sure he’ll want to meet you.”
“What if I don’t want to meet him?”
“Just meet him,” Ben said with a roll of his eyes. “And then you can tell him to fuck off, if you want.”

Just as they started to speak together, they stop together, and their eyes lock. It's not a conscious decision as Anthony's free hand settles on Kate's hip and brushes slowly up her side. He takes a ragged breath as his hand settles in the curve of her waist. Her fingers rest lightly against his chest. The touch of soft fingertips against him sends lightning from their point of contact right to his lips, and he burns with the need to kiss her again.
Instead, he says, "Call me Anthony, please. Here at least."
