Summary

Set between s1 and s2, this is a one-shot following the Paladin's as they embark on a mission to rescue Pidge, the heart of their team, from Galran imprisonment. Along the way they will face their own fears of losing one that has become like a sibling to them, and be forced to reckon with the hard truths of being at war. As they get closer to their goal, they realize that they might not be able to make it out of this ordeal the same as they were before.

Wild is all too experienced with physical injury. At this point, death is more of a casual acquaintance than a faceless god of endings and final goodbyes. That’s been the deal for him for a while now – suffer enough damage, get whacked into oblivion, tap a high-five with the grim reaper, then come back out still swinging.
He didn’t think dying would ever be this much of an ordeal.
