Usually after a battle he’d feel pain throughout his body, a combination of the karmic debt tearing his body apart from the inside out and the sharp pain from the injuries he’d sustained from the battle.
But now… with Lumine near, caring for him, something about her – whether it was her purification or simply her presence, he didn't know – it made the pain fizzle out, as if it had never been there in the first place.
Xiao doesn’t feel the pain as sharply when she’s around.
