When Peter Parker wakes up in Stark Tower, he's surrounded by his idols and told he's got no choice but to remain there until a solution has been found. A few days ago, it'd have sounded like a dream. But one thing leads to another and Peter's comfortable life splinters and cracks until—finally—he's broken enough to be an Avenger.

About Peter. About the tight, tangled thing in his chest that whispered lies Tony couldn’t afford to believe every time Peter walked into a room.
He didn't know Peter had been building a life Tony didn't know anything about. A whole life Tony wasn't a part of. He didn't know how much that would break him.
