“I cannot believe you talked me into this,” Lucifer grumbled as he watched Chloe reach through the car window and grab their tickets from a teenager who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.
Chloe turned to look at him, giving him a glare that was trying hard to be stern.
“You said you’ve never been to a drive-in movie,” she challenged as she carefully navigated them to an empty spot towards the back, “which means you aren’t allowed to have an opinion about it yet.”

Minutes after being shot and then whisked away to safety, Chloe made it back to the loft just in time to see a red-skinned monst— figure standing up from Pierce’s lifeless body with a blade in his hand.
In a moment of panic that would be making her cringe for the rest of her life, she’d then freaked out and panicked like a rookie and grabbed the nearest gun she could find and now there were two bodies lying on the floor. Thank everything in the universe except Lucifer’s Dad, one of them was still breathing.
This was, beyond a doubt, the worst freaking day of Chloe’s life.
