Summary
The alarm settles as Taka walks out to the fields to join his class lined up. Keiji comes up to him immediately, eyes full of concern. “What happened? You look sick,” he says, and Taka could cry but he doesn’t.
“Hey Keiji,” he says instead, “aren’t you sick of people?”
“Yeah,” Keiji answers, concern still lacing his tone but with a tired, understanding edge.
Taka smiles. It isn’t pleasant. “I have an idea.”

Summary
"You musta been the master trick-or-treater when you were a kid dude." Soos's enthusiasm is contagious yet it doesn't catch. Stan's breath catches though and he laughs, forced, hollow.
"Nah, can't say I was a fan of the holiday."
"Really?" Soos stares. "Why not?"
Stan shrugs, tries to shrug off the uncomfortable weight settling on his shoulders. "Never had anyone to go with."

Summary
He remembers mid month, yeah, sitting at the table with Ford at his side, their mother baking them a cake with one layer Stan's favorite and one layer Ford's. Every year they butted their shoulders against each other, waiting for the last beat of their mother singing them a happy birthday to try and blow the candles out first.
Stan always won, even when Ford insisted there was no real way to tell. They'd argue and laugh over it until their father barked at them to keep it down and they stuffed cake in their mouths to smother the laughter still forming in their throats.

Summary
Almost all of the man- all of Ford was out of the portal, only his other hand still pulled back into the blinding light. Stan stepped forward, stumbled, ready for… ready for something, for anything, for finally finally god damned finally their happy ending when he realized Ford’s hand was connected to another hand, grasping it tightly as it too came out of the portal.
Stan’s step faltered, mind racing against itself as another figure came out and into the light, one helped almost gently by Ford down safely from the damaged machinery. This figure wasn’t a man by any means, rather a slim, shorter shadow of - of a girl? A girl wrapped in similar dirty old clothes. She had a hood and face wrap as well, though hers had small bursts of color Ford’s lacked and her big, blue eyes were uncovered and taking in the room with an eager shine.
AU where Ford ended up taking care of a certain dimensional space princess named Star Butterfly while he was in the portal. Star Vs The Forces Of Evil and Gravity Falls crossover

Summary
From the hall he can hear Mabel make some comment about the current song’s age, followed by Dipper’s agreement and Stan’s exasperated fondness about ‘kids these days,’ about ‘in my day.’ Ford smiles, setting aside the books he was carrying on a nearby table, and just enjoys the sound of family seeped into the old, dusty walls.
The record stops, Dipper’s voice is muffled as he says something that makes Stan laugh and then another tune starts spilling through the house and
Ford, he can barely make out the opening notes but the words echo, pointed and suddenly sharp against his skin.

Summary
There are a lot of formulas that make up his life, like his ones with Stan, for example. It’s like Stan asking him 'wanna go out and actually see the town, Poindexter?' and Ford going 'I need to track some migration patterns, maybe another time.' Maybe another time, because there are certainly more important things to do. Maybe another time, because Stan understood that. Maybe another time because Stan was always upfront, aggressive even, so surely Stan would say so if there wasn’t another time.
It’s a formula, it’s who they are, and it’s alright. Stan goes out without him, they’re Stan and Ford, there’s no resentment. Stan goes out without him and Ford’s glad because Ford’s alright and Stan knows it. Ford’s busy and Stan knows it. Ford’s different, Ford’s stronger than he was and Stan knows it.
AU where despite getting to talk after the science fair and sticking together there's still a damn lot of miscommunication between the twins.
(companion/mirror to the first part of the series this time from ford's pov)

Summary
Now whenever Ford came in it was always babbling about ghosts this or telekinetic powers that, spewing that same old nonsense the way he would when they were ten and Ford just had to tell Stan everything about the mystery he just read.
(The small part of Stan, the hollow part, wishes he could feel the same about anything, feel that sort of passion, embrace that sort of commitment. He feels like used to have it, a warm fire, but he doesn't remember. He feels like he's made of fire down to the tips of his fingers, a raging one, a bitter one, one that clung and destroyed.)
An AU where Ford and Stan have a chance to talk about what really happened with the science fair project and make up before Filbrick comes home and ruins everything. They stick together, as brothers do.
As it turns out that doesn’t magically fix their massive communication problems and all the wounds they caused past and present.

Summary
“I think you should have this.” His mother said, quietly, walking on eggshells. In her hands was a photo of two boys on a boat. Just a glance made the air taste like salt and sand and something hard hard hard and bitter.
“I don’t need it.” Ford answered, levelly, crushing the eggshells. His mother’s lips twisted before easing but Ford wondered at it anyway. Stanley, Mr Personality, was the one who read moods. Ford was the one who ruined them. “But thank you.”
Glimpses of the many years and times Ford carried around That Photograph.

Summary
“I might never remember it, all that damn junk we need to say.” The words felt oddly final as they came out of Stan’s mouth, as their echo had Ford’s shoulders tensing before he muttered his answer.
“That doesn’t matter.”
“Yeah it does.” Truth never sat all that well on Stan’s tongue. It tasted sharp and bitter. “You telling me you can live with that? Bad blood has a way of eating at you, you know that.”
Stan and Ford talk after Bill's defeat.
