“You—“ Viktor starts, choking out a stunned exhale, and Jayce mentally folds in on himself, “You want me to go to prom.” He’s blinking up at Jayce, who decides to rest part of his shaking weight on the dented maroon locker beside the other’s thin frame. He swallows as his broad shoulder awkwardly slides into the dent.
Jayce clears his throat. Tries to smile … Fails.
“Yeah, well … with me.” he adds, voice cracking. Awesome.
He straightens, potentially shaking the Redbull as he flails a hand around, “I just thought—I mean, you’re really hot, and I—“
Viktor cuts him off with a raised palm, though the disoriented look he’s giving him is enough to shut him up anyway. He inhales once and exhales twice thanks to the hitch of his breath. Jayce taps the Redbull against his leg.
Once.
Twice.
Maybe if he shakes it hard enough, it’ll explode and kill him before Viktor has a chance to respond.
