But Jack has decided to become a rich widower, who knows maybe he wants to marry one of his mistresses. I don't know and I don't care. What matters to me is that when I'm gone, Timothy may have someone to rely on. Can you do at least that?"

    Bruce hesitated. There were tons of reasons to say no. Too many.

    But that was a dying woman's wish. Who was he to deny it?

    "Okay, Janet," he finally gave up.

    “I will take care of Timothy.”

    She smiled weakly, "Then you're not a coward like I thought."

    After Jason's death, Bruce has to start over. He doesn't have the luxury of giving himself up to crime-fighting with no quarter, not with a child to take care of.

    Tim rolls his eyes and scoffs sourly. “I doubt that.”
