Summary
Rin Okumura has always felt too much—too emotional, too impulsive, too hard to love. Shima hides everything behind jokes and a carefully crafted mask, terrified of what people would think if they saw the real him. Drawn together by loneliness and self-destructive coping habits, the two begin relying on each other in ways that quickly become unhealthy.
What starts as getting high together to escape stress turns into a night neither of them can ignore. In the haze of finally admitting feelings they’ve both buried, they cross a line that leaves Shima panicked once the high fades. Afraid of his emotions and the consequences of wanting Rin at all, he insists it meant nothing and begs Rin not to tell anyone.
The rejection sends Rin spiraling further into instability, self-destructive behavior, and intense fear of abandonment, while Shima’s own repression and guilt slowly begin tearing him apart. As both boys struggle with identity, religious guilt, and the fear of being truly known, their relationship becomes a volatile mix of comfort, obsession, and mutual ruin.
