“Not a big deal?” Lando says, as if Oscar has personally insulted his mother. “Don’t you know what this means?”
“No?”
“It means you’re single for the first time since I’ve known you,” Lando points out. “And like in your life.”
“I’ve been single before,” Oscar argues.
“No, you’ve been a child before,” Lando says, exasperated. “You’ve never been single like this. Like, mate, you’re an F1 driver and you’re rich and shit. It’s awesome.”
“I’m not much for clubs or hookups,” Oscar admits, making Lando tsk.
“You weren’t much for clubs and hookups,” Lando corrects. “You will be. It’s a whole new world out there, Oscar. And it’s fucking awesome. I’m gonna show you. You won’t find a better guide to the single life than me.”
----
Fresh off a breakup, Oscar is learning to navigate being single for the first time as an adult. A famous, rich adult. Lando generously offers to show him how to make the most of being a single, famous F1 driver.
AKA Lando's guide to being single and trying not to fall in love with your teammate as you do it.

Summary
Obviously Lando did not feel sorry for winning the championship, that would be stupid.
It would also be stupid to feel sorry for your teammate who did not win it, that was not what the sport was about.
So why did he keep apologising to said teammate every five minutes?
Or, Lando Norris is a mess when thinking Oscar Piastri hates him.

Summary
Lando is super proud of Jon for getting a promotion.
The problem? All these other trainers they give him suck. None of them last more than a few weeks, until Oscar Piastri.
Oscar is professional. Clear, precise.
‘Again.’
‘One more.’
‘Stop thinking and do it.’Not mean. Not demeaning or patronising like his other trainers. Just firm instructions that Lando can deliver on.
Then the fucking praise comes. Not often. Not effusive.
A firm ‘Good job.’ Or a grin and nod when he finishes a particularly grueling set.It makes something in Lando’s chest perk up, not an instinct to confront, but to please.
He pushes harder. Tolerates more pain, forces his legs to give one more. To go again. Just to see the pleased look on Oscar’s face.He knows it’s not a normal way to react, but it works.
Holy shit does it work.
By the time testing starts, Lando is in the best shape of his life.
Now if he could only figure out what to do with all those fucking feelings, he'll be a champion in no time.

Oscar gives Lando a compass for his fifteenth birthday. The needle always finds North. Oscar spends the next decade pretending he doesn't know what that means.

Summary
Oscar was trying very hard to pull himself together after the Singapore Grand Prix, while Lando was trying just as hard to get a reaction out of him—perhaps in a somewhat questionable way.
