Summary

As his kingdom heals from the perils of war, Dorian finds solace in his friendships, his past, and a certain silver-haired witch—Manon Blackbeak, Queen of Witches. As the years pass, they all come together in the kingdom of Adarlan, finally finding happiness in a world that once seemed so bleak.
I wrote this fic after finishing Kingdom of Ash because I wanted my favorite characters to have happy, fruitful lives post-canon, so that's what this is!! Mainly hopecore with your classic plot structure <3 I am a Chaol apologists so prepare yourself to be swayed.

HYDRA rented him out to anyone who'd pay—oligarchs, shell companies, whoever needed wetwork done. Political assassinations sit alongside yacht explosions, food truck disputes, pet retrievals. There's no ideology. No pattern. Just profit margins and whoever's check cleared.
Bucky knows this already. Bucky just wants Asset to stop searching for meaning that was never there and rest in what's left of Brooklyn before the next wipe. But Asset can't remember failing before, and Bucky can't forget.
