Summary
Niki is the niece of bakers, of blacksmiths and bricklayers, and she grows up far too sensible to put her trust into fairytales. She grows up, she leaves home, she steps into a newfound kingdom filled with warm, welcoming faces. She stands at one of her best friends’ side with a title that the fairytales would call princess consort, but they, with all of their revolutionary spirit, call First Lady.
Listen well, all of you! he cries from his throne of gunpowder and wreckage, as he dooms their country to an early death.
Niki guards her tower with a diligence unparalleled, right until it burns down around her.
And then – five days after they retake L’Manberg, doused in the shadows of the land’s deepest forest – then is when she meets Captain Puffy.
-
Five times Niki received a kiss worthy of the fairytales, and the one time she gave one. (Or - once upon a time, there is a princess, a knight, and a dragon. I'm not telling you which is which.)

Summary
“I wanna try something,” Pete blurts out.
“Oh?”
The hesitation that radiates from him is strong enough that Steph could almost take it in her hands, if she wanted to - pull it down from where it hovers between them, weave it between her fingers, figure out how heavy it feels balanced in her two palms.
“...do you trust me?” he asks.
She looks over at him, and her eyes land on his – on the puppy-dog eyes that he’s pulling, does he even know that he’s doing it? Steph has never seen a pair of dark eyes sparkle quite so pleadingly. Somewhere, Sarah McLachlan must be crooning some sap into giving half their college fund away to puppies in stubby little leg-casts.
Or maybe Steph just has a soft spot for him. That’s the thing with Peter Spankoffski – Steph finds it increasingly, increasingly difficult to look at him and not innately, instinctively trust him.
-
Peter and Steph hold a study sesh in Hatchetfield's library, with the goal of earning Steph's phone back - instead, Steph learns a few things about having an unhealthy relationship with Twitter, Biology, and her feelings for one Peter Spankoffski.

Summary
“It was the day you got arrested, actually. They still made us all go back to class because, of course.” They roll their eyes. Cash snorts. “Trust Hartley, right. Anyway, Miss Obah was doing this whole class on consent, and it might have hit a little, um, close to home, after everything… and then she started going on this whole tangent about asexuality – it sounded like you. So I just figured.”
And they give him a proud look, like they’ve got him all figured out. It’s the kind of look you can get stuck under. It’s the kind of look Cash finds himself stuck under, as if Darren can pick all of his secrets right out of him with their perfectly-manicured nails.
“I’m right, aren’t I.”
It’s not a question. “Yeah,” Cash admits, uneasy, still struck that Darren can piece him together so easily. And then – “you actually paid attention in SLTs? Because of me?”
“Don’t tell Miss Obah,” Darren interjects immediately, indignant and embarrassed all at once, setting off another round of snickers from Cash. “She’ll never get over it.”
-
Cash gets out of custody. He and Darren have a conversation they're probably long-overdue for.

All it takes for a fire to start is fuel, fresh air, and just the right amount of heat.

Summary
“O mighty Nemesis, amid the ruins of what she reaps,” a voice drawls from behind her - and the sound of it is like ice water down Niki's back, a harsh tug on the fragile threads barely holding her together, but she can’t still bring herself to turn. Can’t bring herself to see the look on his face - betrayal, fury, hatred. She lets her eyes sink onto the wreckage instead, every bitter angle of it.
“I never really asked why that was your little codename, you know,” Wilbur continues. “Seems a bit on the nose, don’t you think?”
-
In which Niki has a terrible secret, Puffy just wants to move on, Tommy sneaks into casino parties and Wilbur learns to deal with anger being justified. Or - the one thing they don’t warn you of, when dropping nuclear warheads on old friends, is fallout.
Sequel to 'cause most of us are bitter over someone', written as a fic scrapbook - including fully written out scenes, outlining, scene notes, and chapter art.

Summary
“Havoc and I have dinner plans at six,” She explains while moving on to pick up a miniscule piece of trash- anything to keep from having to look Roy in the eye while she does this. “Maybe this could wait until tomorrow?”
For a moment, there’s silence- thick, loaded silence. When Riza finally dares to look at Roy from her peripheral, his eyebrow is raised.
“You’re going out to dinner,” He repeats, as if the concept is completely foreign to him. “With Havoc.”
“Yes, sir,” Riza answers.
Roy leans forward, resting his elbows on the desk. His voice shifts- quieter, now, and full of a baffled sort of disbelief that offends Riza on Havoc’s behalf.
“Alone?”
The question hangs in the air between them. Awkward. Silent. Almost as if he doesn’t believe it at all- as if it’s some sort of fucked up joke she’s playing- as if he expects her to say ‘gotcha’ and for them both to laugh. Of course, the gotcha moment never comes.
“Yes. Alone.”
“As in, no one else will be there? No Fuery, no Breda, no Falman? Not even Catalina? I thought he was into her.”
“Precisely, sir.”

Edward admitted it made sense to have an alchemist in each pair when the four of them split up to search for Barry the Chopper in the sketchy-ass tunnels they'd discovered beneath the military's Third Laboratory. What he didn't understand was why Colonel Hawkeye got to pair with Lieutenant Havoc while Ed was stuck with Lieutenant Bastard.
The events in the Third Laboratory, in a double-role-reversal AU.

Summary
There were a thousand things she wanted to say. She wanted to yell at him to take better care of himself, to cry like a child at how she’d thought he was dead, to grab him by the shoulders and shake some sense into him. Instead, she took the washcloth off of his forehead and dipped it back into the bowl of water. “You really should try to go back to sleep, sir,” she said, wringing out the washcloth and dabbing at his face with it. “You need your rest right now.”
Ever the diligent second-in-command. Ever the emotionless wall.
