Summary
"She goes to her window, opens it with a flourish.
“NANCY!” Across the street is an elated Robin perched on the passenger side window-frame, flinging her arms up in triumph as she once again reaches her leg across the car to kick the horn in a mortified Steve’s lap.
“Jesus Christ, I told you not to do that. I TOLD HER NOT TO DO THAT!” Steve’s yelling up at Nancy, pushing Robin’s ripped high-top off the wheel.
“GET SUITED UP, WHEELER! WE’RE GOING TUBING!” Robin’s grinning wide, wearing a beat-up Runaways ringer with one sleeve and the neck missing, revealing an impressive swath of shoulder, and a cheap pair of cherry red sunglasses. Nancy’s stomach flips over."
OR
It's been three days since Nancy and Robin went from not-so-plutonic buddies to nuts-about-each-other gal pals, and the whole gang's going river tubing! Nancy contemplates what it means to fight for happiness, over and over again.

Summary
Robin has a moment of confusion when she thinks she might have forgotten that it’s Halloween before she realises that the person standing before her —with eyes that look like all the graves have opened — is, in fact, Nancy Wheeler.
“Good lord Nancy,” she says without thinking, “you look terrible!”
“Hello Robin,” says Nancy, as though Robin is the last person in the whole world she wants to see.
—With her freshly minted double-first in modern languages from Oxford, Robin Buckley has her own plans for how she’s going to serve her country in wartime and none of them involve rotting in the rural backwater that is Hawkins-on-Lea.
These plans are scuppered when her very best friend Steve Harrington does something stupid and enlists, leaving her in charge of his farm. It’s all going about as well as can be expected when Nancy Wheeler turns up on the doorstep in the middle of the night, fresh from the fight: a little battered, a little broken and needing some help to put herself back together.

Summary
Nancy leaned against the counter, her chin resting in her hand, watching Robin maneuver around the cramped aisles of the store with the returns cart. It was inefficient, her method. She took the cart with her instead of just carrying one or two tapes. She bounced around the store like a ping pong ball, but slower, because of that damn cart.
"Why do you do it that way? The way you-" Nancy gestured at the cart and at the shelves. "The tapes. Why do you do them in that order?"
