Summary
Neon leans back against the wall again, wrapping Fade’s sleeveless jacket tightly around her body.
“Warmer?”
Neon nods, eyes falling closed again.
Fade laughs under her breath. Neon’s head twitches toward the sound, and her lips fall into a frown. “You should rest. Kay/O should be here soon.”
Neon mumbles something unintelligible and snuggles deeper into Fade’s jacket. Her rabbit-quick breathing evens out slowly but surely, and her shoulders slump with sleep.
Fade keeps her Nightmare close and inches away from Neon as quietly as she can.
The rain drips down onto her, and the chill sinks deep into her bones. It is comforting, grounding, numbing. It calms the growling beast beneath her skin.
Fade watches the darkness vigilantly.

“I told her it was you.”
Robin’s stomach dropped.
“What?” She asked.
“She invited you to our house for Christmas.”

It’s been probably the best month of Robin’s life, doing all the ridiculous, Hawkins-high-school-romance things with Nancy- hiding under the bleachers, picnics by the creek, sharing popcorn at shitty movies. Their existing friendship gives them a great cover for why they’re always together (though Robin has been starting to wonder if Will might have caught on). But now, faced with several days of sharing a house with their closest friends- who are sometimes dense but not total idiots- they might have a teensy bit of a problem.

The monthly trips to Robin’s uncle’s house in Philadelphia, except Robin and Nancy are trying to keep their relationship a secret, Steve and Jonathan aren’t as straight as they think, and the basement might be haunted.
